Will Cascadden’s latest book, Procedural Strategies for Litigators in Alberta, has been published by LexisNexis Canada.  The first procedural guide to litigation in Alberta, this book canvasses the entire process of conducting a trial effectively, from the pre-commencement stage to the appeal stage.  It discusses tactics and strategies to strengthen a party’s case, and to efficiently advance a case throughout the litigation process, while offering advice on court procedures and the application of the new Alberta Rules of Court.

Spectrum HR Law LLP is the lead sponsor of the special “Legal” edition of HRAC Perspective Magazine, published in March 2012, featuring the lead article, “Confidentiality and the Human Resources Professional,” by Will Cascadden.
 
Chris Brown’s article, “’Perfect Storms’ Prompted Reviews”, appeared in the December 2011 Special 20th Anniversary Report edition of Benefits and Pensions Monitor magazine.

Will Cascadden will be speaking on human rights issues at the 2012 PSAC Spring Conference, April 17-18, 2012 in Red Deer, Alberta.

Will Cascadden and Jonas KcKay will be speaking at the British Columbia Continuing Legal Education’s Employment Law Conference 2012, on “Liability of Employers for Mismanagement of Registered Pension Plans”, from April 26-27, 2012 in Vancouver.

Scott Sweatman will present “ A Debate on the Future Perspectives for Canadian Pension Plans” at International Foundation’s Canadian Legal and Legislative Update, from May24–25, 2012 in Victoria, British Columbia.

Chris Brown will be participating in a plenary panel discussion, “Pensions: Seeking solutions to the sustainability crisis and other pressing concerns,” at the 30th Annual Labour Arbitration and Policy Conference on May 31, 2012 in Calgary.

Chris Brown will give the keynote address at a seminar hosted by the Local Authorities Pension Plan for the Alberta public sector pension plans on June 1, 2012 in Edmonton.
